A lighter but bright purple with a graciously elegant bouquet, fine-boned, indeed the charm of the bouquet starts to grow, and glow, in the glass. This is all about the pure red fruit, it is not the most concentrated but there is good intensity and certainly persistence. Of the four Amoureuses, this might be the one which grows most in the glass. - JM

Barrel sample. Beautifully floral. Roses and a touch of spice. With wild-cherry zing. Gorgeous intensity of red fruit on the palate with the floral scent totally entwined with the fruit. The aroma is so intense and vibrant. A little more savoury on the palate, the tannins compact and chalky but smoothed and the fruit goes on right to the finish. Freshness and fragrance all the way. Super-persistent. - JR

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a beautiful floral bouquet of red currant, cranberry and rose petal aromas that are very pure and refined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Precise and elegant, with real tension and piquancy on the energetic finish. Divine. - VM
